THANK YOU (2011)

I have liked a few Anees Bazmee films in the past. No Entry (2005) I thought was genuinely funny. Singh is Kinng (2008) had its moments too. Deewangee (2002) was an unofficial remake of Primal Fear (1996), worked only in parts because of Ajay Devgan but heavily pales in comparison with Primal Fear. Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha (1998) wasn't as bad either, another unofficial remake (French Kiss). I thought Welcome (2007) was as awful as it can get. Boy was I wrong!?

Thank You is a disaster. The film is downright cheap. The men in the film are cheap, low-life, dirty characters and the women are dumb and silly. When someone cheats on you, you leave them! Hello?? Better still, don't marry them!

Akshay Kumar is losing my respect with each and every film of his. Bobby Deol (I'm a huge fan) also doesn't do anything to the movie. Sonam Kapoor looks bad and acts.. ahem.. well. The only actor in the film who is even remotely funny is Irrfan Khan. I'm sure his lines weren't in the script, the great actor that he is, it looks improvised and I hope it is.

The worst part of the film is how it just doesn't seem to end and drags on and on and on.

Anees Bazmee must stop making films if this is the kind of output we will get in the future. His next film is called "Ready". It stars Salman Khan and releases on June 3. If nothing, he must stop naming them after every common English phrase/ word. Or maybe he should just make one film called "Goodbye" and never return to directing.
